Description

The Tambopata National Reserve is a protected natural area of Peru, is located in the department of Madre de Dios, extends in the districts of Tambopata and Inambari. This reserve has a great index of biological diversity of the world.

Itinerary

Reception at the airport or land terminal and transfer to the office of Monte AmazĆ³nico for the corresponding registrations.

Transfer to the captaincy port where we will take the boat for an hour, to our lodge ā€“ Welcome meeting, with a refreshing juice based on fruits from our region. Installation in our respective rooms.

After a restful rest, you will have as introduction a walk for two hours in the dense tropical forest, guided by an expert local guide, who will take you by our trails and you will be able to appreciate variety of trees that can have more than five hundred years, also, you will be able to observe some species of wild animals like: toucans, oropendolas, macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc. You will have the opportunity to live the magic of our Amazon jungle that is within the TAMBOPATA NATIONAL RESERVE with 278,000 hectares protected.

After lunch, we will visit the ā€œmonkey islandā€, located in front of our Lodge crossing the Madre de Dios River where we will find different species such as the family of capuchin monkey friars living on the island and return to the Lodge.

At night we will go in search of white caimans that are generally found on sandbanks, in the Madre de Dios river for which it will be necessary to carry a flashlight. Also, we will be able to see the capybara, the largest rodent in the world that can weigh up to 60 kilos, return to the lodge, dinner and rest.

After breakfast we will walk 3 km in the middle of the dense tropical jungle and head towards Lake Sandoval (inhabited by piranhas) one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve and we will paddle where we will appreciate a great variety of birds and monkeys of different species: shansho, cormorant, jacanas, puma garza, gallinazos, cotomono, monkey friar, black male, pichicos and sloths. Perhaps we will have an encounter with the giant otter family (almost two meters long) which is in danger of extinction and the largest caimans recorded more than 4 meters long, return to the Lodge to enjoy the typical lunch.

In the afternoon we will return to the city, transfer to the bus station.

5.30 a.m. in the morning we will make a small walk by the Canopy walk-way, on the 30 meters of height, that will allow us to appreciate the nature from the highest possible, also we will have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River. From the platforms we will observe different species of birds, such as toucans, macaws, tangaras, oropendolas, it will be a wonderful experience.

Breakfast and return to the city, transfer to the airport and/or bus station.
