Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival in Lima - City Tour

Assistance upon arrival at the “Jorge Chavez” International Airport of Lima. In the afternoon, we will pick you up from your hotel to start the City tour which will last four about 2 hours, where you will visit the main monuments and colonial buildings of the capital.

Day 2:Lima - Paracas - Ballestas Islands - Paracas Reserve - Ica - Huacachina Sandboarding

Very early at about 3:30 a.m. we’ll pick you up from your hotel to board the bus to the south of Peru, specifically Paracas; where through a boat you will visit “Paracas Peninsula”. After lunch, we will travel by bus to Huacachina Oasis, you could also experience the so-called sandboarding or “Table on Arena”. After the tour, we’ll transfer to your hotel in the city of Ica for the overnight.

Day 3:Nazca Lines Flight - Arequipa

Today we continue our journey to Nazca. After breakfast, we’ll drive for about 2.5 hours to the airport, where we take a 30 minute flight over the incredible Nazca Lines. During this flight over the Nazca Lines, we will be able to see the most fascinating figures such as: the monkey, hummingbird, tree, parrot, astronaut, dog, condor and others. After the flight, we drive to Ica where we will visit the beautiful Huacachina Oasis. After lunch you can enjoy with palm trees lined, blue-green oasis, surrounded by sand dunes on which you can have a wild, unforgettable sand buggy ride and sand-boarding adventure. After we enjoy the sight of a beautiful sunset in the desert, we return to Lima where you will stay in a hotel for the night.

Day 4:Arequipa City Tour

We’ll reach the city of Arequipa at approximately 6:00 a.m, in the afternoon, we’ll take a guided tour of Arequipa, including the “Plaza de Armas/Main Square”, the Cathedral, the Church of the Company, former Jesuit Temple, among other places. Finally, in the afternoon, you will be transferred to your hotel and you’ll have the night off.

Day 5:Colca Canyon - "Cruz Del Condor/Condor Cruise" - Arequipa - Puno

Very early in the morning, we’ll head towards the “Cruz del Condor”, where usually the world’s largest bird can be seen flying. On the return, we’ll visit the towns of Yanque, Coporaque, Achoma, and Maca. In the afternoon, we’ll take the bus that will bring us to the city of Puno where we’ll spend the night.

Day 6:Puno - Titicaca Lake, Uros, And Taquile Floating Islands Tours - Arrival To Cusco

We’ll also travel early to Lake Titicaca and Uros – Taquile Islands arriving at 11:30 a.m. exhibition of crafts and especially the experiences of the Islanders. At night, we will take the bus heading to Cusco city.

Day 7:Cusco City Tour

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport to board a flight to Cusco. At your arrival, you may want to take some time to get acclimatized to the altitude before starting the city tour of Cusco, between 13:00hrs and 13:20hrs. First, we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco, located on the Plaza de Armas. Then our tour will continue to Qorikancha (The Temple of the Sun) and the Convent of Santo Domingo as well as to several of the city’s impressive archaeological ruins such as Sacsaywaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay. Our tour will finish at the main square. At this time, you might like to enjoy a tasty dinner in one of the many nearby restaurants. Alternatively, we can arrange to drop you off at your hotel. Just tell your guide what you are in the mood to do.

Day 8:Cusco - Pispitayoc (Binking & Rafting)

After breakfast, we will leave the Sacred Valley of the Incas travelling through picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes until reaching the Abra Malaga Mountain (4350 m.a.s.l.). We will depart, descending on top scale mountain bikes for 3 hours going though rural villages, rivers, orchards and streams reaching the Huamanmarca Region. Our private bus will take the group to Santa Maria, where we will launch the rafting portion of our trek. Note: Those that did not book the rafting tour will go with an assistant guide in our private bus to Santa Rosa, arriving at the La Choza Eco Lodge, located in the Pispitayoc village. Later, the rafting group will be taken to Santa Rosa and hike to the lodge. We will then have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 9:Pispitayoc - Santa Teresa

After breakfast, we start walking for 2.5 hours along the riverbanks and start ascending into the high forest observing small coffee and cacao plantations and fruit trees amongst the abundance of flora and fauna. In this area it is possible to see many types of plants, orchids, birds and other wildlife. We witness the mysterious beauty of the high forest, a paradise of biodiversity in the Inca jungle. After arriving to the top of the mountain we will see the whole expansiveness of the Urubamba Valley. After basking in the force of these panoramic views, we descend, arriving at the village Qellomayo where we will have lunch. Afterwards, we will go by bus for about one hour to Lucmabamba and walk up to the Llaqtapata ruins in about 2.5 hours passing and descent for another half hour to the Llaqtapata lodge. Here we will have dinner and sleep at an amazing location with a breath taking view of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu.

Day 10:Santa Teresa - Hidroeléctrica - Aguas Calientes

The next morning, after a good breakfast we start the descent at 8 p.m. for about 1.5 hours to the river Ahobamba where a bus will take us in half an hour to the hot springs near Santa Teresa. We will have some time to relax before walking to the zip lining location which is nearby. After this activity the bus will bring us to Hidroelectrica where we will enjoy our lunch. We can relax here for a while, then we will continue walking along the train track that is leading through this great jungle that the Inca knew by heart to our final destination: Aguas Calientes. We walk for about 3 hours and along the way you will encounter beautiful waterfalls, different Eco farms and possibly wildlife curious of your arrival in the region at 5 p.m. Here the group will spend the night in a hostel. At night we all will get together in a local restaurant to enjoy a great dinner and have a briefing about our next excursion to Machu Picchu. Then you are free to visit the city which is wonderful after sun’s set.

Day 11:Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

We start hiking early after breakfast with the ambition to marvel at the sunrise from the heights of Machu Picchu. We will have a 2 hour comprehensive tour and afterwards you will have free time to explore the sacred soil in solitary. The passengers that reserved the hiking tour to Huayna Picchu will have a 2.5 hour steep ascension ending in a rewarding view. In the afternoon the group will descend to Aguas Calientes, boarding a train to Ollantaytambo, and ride back to Cusco arriving in the evening.

Day 12:End of Tour

Today you will finish our Peru Vacation program. Our staff will pick you up from your hotel and lead you to Cusco International Airport where you will catch your flight back to Lima. Once you arrive to the airport, our program will conclude.

What is Machu Picchu?

Machu Picchu is an archeological center that preserves the remains of an Inca city, built in a green environment of mountains and rivers, a mystical and mysterious place; in addition, it is a patrimony of humanity and one of the most desired destinations in the world.

It is located at 2,400 m. a. s. l. in a cloud forest between the Andes Mountains and the Amazon rainforest of Peru.

How to get to Machu Picchu from Lima?

To get from Lima to Machu Picchu you must travel to the city of Cusco by plane or bus.

When to go to Machu Picchu?

It is possible to go all the year, the minimum temperatures vary between 8 ºC and the maximum around 20 ºC.
There are 2 seasons in Machu Picchu: the dry season and the rainy season. The first one takes place between April and October, it is characterized by little rain and a sunny climate. The rainy season runs from November to March and is characterized by constant rains.

How much luggage can I take on the train?

On trains to Machu Picchu you can only take hand luggage that should not exceed 5 kilos (11 pounds).

Can Machu Picchu be visited by people of any age?

Yes, it can be visited by people of all ages. However, in order to ascend Huayna Picchu mountain, it can only be visited by people older than 12 years old.
