This route is perfect for trekking and biking and is rarely visited, giving travelers an insight into the real lives of the Andean communities. From the Abra of Lares (4470 mt), we descend to the depths of the sacred valley, enjoying the amazing landscapes of flora and fauna. You’ll have the chance to see thatched stone houses surrounded by herds of alpacas and llamas.
Briefing in our office, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. of the day before the trip, detailed explanation of the tour with our guide.
Recommendation: Arrive 24 hours before the trip at the office of Conde Travel.
We will meet for this exciting tour at 6:00am and travel for 1 hour by bus until reaching the quiet town of Calca.
The journey begins on mountain bikes around 10:30am with our professional guide at the highest point, Abra of Lares, “Lares mountain pass,”(4470 m.a.s.l.). These isolated highlands, covered only with straw (Andean grass), and the snow-capped mountains give you a fresh, special feeling. Along the way the scenery turns into a canyon and travellers will see Alpacas, Vicuñas and Llamas, small villages, farms and livestock.
We will also visit “Chulpas” (pre-Inca ruins), which are visible evidence of the importance of this place. After visiting the ruins we will enjoy a typical Peruvian lunch and a rest.
We continue our biking tour until arriving at the “Machacancha” hot springs.
Later we will continue for 1 hour back to the village of Calca, where our private transportation will take us back to Cusco, arriving around 7:30pm.
